I'm organizing an art show featuring mostly unknown artists. It’ll be a tour of America (the turn out is supposed to be huge) early next year and then the European tour (again, huge) later next year. I found I have room for roughly 300 more pieces on the tour. I've decided to dedicate 49 places (one is already taken) to DeviantArt users who are SERIOUS about their art. The exposure will be great for any budding artists. It's a great opportunity to kick-start your career.

What is the show all about?

Part of my job is to organize shows that are going to make my company money. In order to make that money, I need to dupe the rich into paying to attend my show. There's nothing more exciting to a rich person than investing in an artist that one day might be huge. Everyone has a Picasso or Dali piece hanging up in their hallway; they crave something new, something that will make them look good. Not that they are all that fickle, but don't complain, it's bringing you a great opportunity. This is for underexposed artists only.


Specifics

Expected turn-out: 3,000 - 10,000 people PER SHOW.

Length of each stop: 3 days

Length of American Tour: February - April

Length of European Tour: May - July

Total number of artists: 935



What do the 49 winners get?

Of course, their art displayed on both tours.

Boarding, Travel, and Admission paid for them and a friend to any one show.

Whatever benefits come out of the show!

Visual art submission only. 1 per Person.

Do not send top quality files at this time. Please send a JPEGs scaled down as much as possible without losing too much quality. You will get the chance to send a higher quality file later on.

1. Who is the deviant who has the 50th place?!?!

It's a secret.


2. Why?

Because I said so.


3. Is this for American deviants only?

Absolutely not. It's available to all deviants in all countries.


4. Does it have to be on canvas or can it be computer generated art?

All visual art is accepted. When the winners are selected, we will handle all arrangement pertaining to shipping and printing. You pay nothing.


5. Is it the first 49 or how do you go about in selecting these entries to go on the walls?

On December 02, I ( devart-critic ) will sit down and sort through all submissions. I will pick 49 that showcase talent, imagination, technique, and effort.


6. Can admins participate?

Of course.


7. Why are you doing this?

I love art. DA has so much talent, I would love to see some make it into the main stream and fulfill their dreams. If I could offer more than 50 slots I would, but then i have more than just DA to think about

I ask you to remember though, this isn't a right, it's something I decided to do because I wanted to. I can easily take it back in the event of something happening. I'm not doing this as a popularity contest, or to stir up anything within DeviantArt, I simply want to give artists a chance to get what they want.


8. What about the writers in the community?

Once again, I'm offering what I have because I want to; I didn't create this for the sole purpose of pleasing all DA users. HOWEVER, I am planning a similar show that showcases writing. I will consider dedicating some slots to DA writers depending on how this goes.
Suggestions for that are more than welcome


Also as an offer to ALL deviants, after I post the dates for the shows and cities (probably in December), you can attend the show free of charge. More details about that later, but basically you will RSVP and we will send you a pass.
